Abstract
This article discusses a study conducted by Thomas Fritz and colleagues which examined whether members of the Mafa group in Cameroon could appreciate the emotional aspects of Western music. A laptop and sun collector were used by researchers to play music for study participants. Results of the study showed that the basic emotions in Western music were recognized by listeners.
