- Abstract
In this study, concentrating on participant observations I made in the dance group where I have been dancing for several years and in-depth interviews I conducted with four women dancers, I try to examine how women perceive their and the others' bodies, what they feel about them, how these emotions work and affect the construction of their bodies. Within this context, first taking neoliberal subject as starting point, which is pointed both in the dance floors and by the women through the narrative of free individual, who plans and transforms her body/life as a project on the basis of pleasure and desire, I discuss neoliberal subject within the framework of Michel Foucault's concepts of biopolitics/biopower. Following this path, I present the significant points mentioned during the interviews in relation to the main questions of the study and put forth the deductions about the womanhood narrative and subject imagery together with the life portrait it is articulated to.
