- Abstract
Aspergillus flavus, as one of the causes of invasive fun gal infection, is a opportunistic pathogen which is detected in im munosuppressive patients often, as a determinat. It is more virulent than other Aspergillus species. It is common in conditions that led to immunosuppression such as corticosteroşd use, chemotherapy history, bone marrow transplantation, organ transplantation. Cavitary lung and multiple central nervous system lesions can be progressive and can be mistaken for malignancies. Triazoles are first choice for treatment and voriconazole is the first choice of them. Because A. flavus is resistant to Ampho tericin-B intrinsically, Amphotericin-B should be avoided in cases whose pre-diagnose suggest A. flavus infection. A sixty-one kidney transplant recipient patient, is presented with invasive progressive cavitary lung and multiple cranial lesions. This case is presented es pecially because central nervous system lesions are atypical, to con tribute to the literature.
