- Title
Overtreatment in end-of-life care: how can we do better?
- Authors
Björkhem-Bergman, Linda
- Abstract
The author comments on a study by M. Szilcz and coauthors on overtreatment in end-of-life care among adults aged 65 years or older who are dying from cancer. She asserts that the indicators, including surgical interventions, used in the research can be questioned as such indicators do not imply overtreatment. She discusses ways to avoid overtreatment such as improving prognostication.
