Title
The Etiology of Syphilis.
Abstract
The article offers information on the etiology of syphilis. It references a study which suggests that the disease is caused by a protozoan infection called Spirochaete pallida. It also suggests to look at other investigations such as the role of the streptococcus in smallpox and scarlet fever, syphilis bacillus found in internal organs, and spirochetes found in the mouth and in the genitalia.
