- Abstract
The article offers information on the study based on the effectiveness of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. The study shows that the CABG surgery gives better result than percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for treating the patients who are suffering from diabetes and require multivessel revascularization. The study conducted the clinical trial titled "Future Revascularization Evaluation in Patients With Diabetes Mellitus: Optimal Management of Multivessel Disease (FREEDOM)," that explains the predominance of CABG surgery over PCI. The article also discusses the observational study of the organization American College of Cardiology Foundation-The Society of Thoracic Surgeons Collaboration on the Comparative Effectiveness of Revascularization Strategies (ASCERT).
