- Abstract
The author reflects on the collateral damage or second-hand effects from alcohol drinking, which are attributed to substantial social costs. The author discusses the interpersonal violence related to alcohol drinking in countries like Canada and mentions the need to highlight such effects as it affects the general population through cases such as harassment. Meanwhile, he suggests that controlling availability and alcohol costs may be an effective way to lessen second-hand effects from alcohol.
