- Abstract
The article examines the preparation and properties of biocomposites based on jute fibers and blend of plasticized starch and poly(β-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB). To realize a processable biodegradable matrix, various amounts of glycerol and aliphatic polyesters (PHB) have been incorporated to native starch. The study revealed the significant improvement in the mechanical properties and water sensitivity by the addition of 8 wt % PHB.
