- Abstract
The article features Andersonville National Cemetery. An overview of the park is presented together with an account of a funeral service being conducted for a World War II veteran. The significance of the cemetery as an integral part of the Andersonville National Historic Site is explained with emphasis on its active classification. The role of Clara Barton of the Missing Soldiers Office and former prisoner Dorence Artwater is discussed in relation to its unknown rate of less than four percent.
