Why Interpret Beer?
- Authors
Bletz, Ira
- Abstract
The article offers information on beer, which is said to be responsible for modern civilization. The author recognizes ancient hunter-gatherers for creating beer. He says that civilization started because people want a steady supply of beer. Sumerians were the first of ancient civilizations driven by beer. Early brewers used wheat, rice, millet and manioc root to make their own brews. The author points out that beer is responsible for some of the health and consumer protection laws. A royal decree in Bavaria banned serving low-quality beer in 1165.
