- Abstract
The article discusses an incident in the early 19th century in the parish of Nordmark in Värmland, Sweden in which a woman, Lisa Matsdotter, murdered her newborn child and served an eight-year prison sentence for it. Her marriage to Petter Nilsson is discussed, as is her crime and her subsequent trial, at which she was initially sentenced to death, but was granted a reduced sentence. Her later marriage to Johnannes Johnson is also mentioned, as are the archival sources of the information about her.
