- Abstract
The article discusses the household crime victimization study conducted by the Institute for Security Studies (ISS) which examines the experience of crime, general perceptions of crime and personal and household protection and quality of life issues in South Africa. The survey is conducted to assist the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan Municipality (NMMM) with the development of a crime prevention strategy. It describes the people who join the survey from all walks of life which have varied response pertaining to the issue.
