- Abstract
The article presents the abstract of the study conducted by researcher M.H. Davidson and colleagues on undertreatment among high-risk dyslipidemic patients. The Lipid Treatment Assessment Program, a national survey of physician compliance with National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel guidelines completed in 1997, showed significant underachievement of ATP II lowdensity lipoprotein cholesterol goals. A significant proportion of high-risk patients, especially those with elevated non-high-density lipoprotein cholesterol due to hypertriglyceridemia, remain undertreated.
