- Abstract
The article analyze the U.S. system of taxation in comparison to the value-added tax (VAT) system prevalent in many other countries. It explores the question of whether the VAT system would be preferable to the current taxation system employed by the U.S. It further starts by introducing the significance of a successful taxation system and highlights the unique approach of the U.S., which does not have a VAT and imposes income taxes on non-resident citizens.
