- Abstract
This article discusses the life and career of Rafael Puyana, a Colombian harpsichordist who made a significant impact on the world of Early Music performance. Puyana's journey took him from studying in North America to settling in Paris, where he became known for his performances on the Pleyel harpsichord. Later in his career, Puyana switched to a historic harpsichord made by H. A. Hass, allowing him to explore different tonal colors and continue his expressive style. The article also mentions Puyana's upcoming recordings of Bach's Partitas and Scarlatti sonatas.
