- Title
Water-based metamaterials: Negative refraction of sound.
- Authors
Popa, Bogdan-Ioan; Cummer, Steven A.
- Abstract
The article presents a study conducted by researcher Thomas Brunet related to designing of resonant acoustic metamaterials that can be used in underwater acoustic applications, which was published in the periodical "Nature Materials." Topics discussed include the use of soft silicone-rubber microbeads to make the metamaterials, exploring rigid structures of metamaterials to have negative index of refraction and limitations of the metamaterials due to imperfect impedance with water.
