- Title
Cutting Your Publication Costs.
- Abstract
The article presents an account of the paper, entitled "Priced to Print," by M. Goldberg, and published in a 1990 issue of the journal "College Athletic Management." It informs that college athletic departments spend US$47.5 million annually in printing costs for brochures, media guides, and game programs. Because this has become a major expense, managers must find ways to reduce their department's printing costs. Prepress work such as typesetting, page paste-up, and shooting and stripping photos and line shots can be done in-house or at smaller print shops before sending the material to the printer. Savings can also be made in typesetting and design/layout by using computers and desktop publishing.
