- Abstract
The purpose of the study was to describe the experiences of being a teacher in distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic when all education was distance. The research is part of an international research project. The material was collected through a thematic interview with eight health care teachers working in two different polytechnics in spring 2021. The data collection started after the Covid-19 pandemic had lasted one year and during that almost all teaching had carried out as distance learning. The interview data were analyzed by inductive content analysis. Being a teacher during the Covid-19 pandemic was characterized by taking over a new situation, reorganizing a teachers' work, sensitization to support students, and finding ways to enhance teachers coping at work. The results can be used in developing distance learning, in teacher education, in-service training, and personnel management of educational institutions.
