- Abstract
Introduction of different overviews - Meta Analysys What is the current status of this modality? In which fields is it used? What are the most promising results in musculo-skeletal disorders? Background: Pulsating electromagnetic fields are lately used more and more by physiotherapists and rehabilitation doctors. Objectives: In which fields can we expect positive results. Search Methods: We searched PubMed, Cochrane for trials. Also PEDro and Cinahl Selection criteria: RCT and trials with a duration of 4 weeks and more. Data collection: Different trials were included with a small risk of bias, using 'Cochrane risk of bias tool' and CI of 95% Main results: More then 8 studies with over 500 participants. Study designs and conducts were very heterogene. Pain and functional outcome were the main examined parameters. Conclusion: Seems to be good evidence for moderate benefit for osteoarthritis and moderate benefit for the treatment of inflammation.
