The article discusses the the for-profit educational industry in the U.S. as of April 2012, focusing on a call for legal reforms to the industry based on increases in student debt obligations, high unemployment rates, and reports of questionable student recruitment techniques by some schools. The U.S. Department of Education's role in regulating for-profits educational institutions is examined.
