- Abstract
Comfort is an important property of textile material which are next to the skin. Today consumers are demanding comfort, latest trend and some additional functional properties i.e., UV protection, anti-microbial activity, etc. In this research work, plain knitted fabrics are produced from viscose and modified rayon (excel, modal, bamboo) and the comfort and functional characteristics (UV protection and anti-microbial) of fabrics are studied in detail. It has been found that viscose and excel both have good absorbing properties as well as wicking value, viscose rayon have high water vapour transmission rate as compared to excel. Modal fabric have good thermal insulation properties.
