- Abstract
The article discusses alternatives that would provide options to users of digital copyrighted materials without violating the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). It provides an overview on several of the legislative and academic proposals designed to amend the anti-circumvention provisions in technologically-protected materials. Moreover, it discusses the distinction between access control and rights protection relative to fair use of digital materials under the DMCA.
