- Abstract
The article presents a critical analysis of the poems "Maud" and "The Charge of the Light Brigade," by Alfred Lord Tennyson and their depiction of the Crimean War. Discussion is offered regarding Tennyson's views of the war, his different uses of narrative voice in each poem to depict different aspects of the conflict, and the works' place within the larger genre of 19th-century war poetry.
