The article examines the relevance of U.S. academic criminal law curriculum in 2014. Topics include the gaps in criminal law teaching in U.S. law schools, capital punishment, and the growth of the incarcerated population in the U.S. between the 1970s and 2014. Information is provided on the number of criminal law courses law students are required to take to complete a law degree.
