- Abstract
The article focuses on whether a people-oriented policing or 'community policing' is helping in crime prevention in Adatan community in Ogun state, Nigeria. Community policing is being used in several parts of the world to deal with the increase in crime rates and the perceived lapses inherent in traditional policing style. A study, involving quantitative and qualitative techniques, shows that community policing is a desirable strategy for crime prevention in Adatan.
