The article analyzes the films "Lars and the Real Girl" directed by Craig Gillespie, "In the Mood for Love" directed by Wong Kar Wai, and "Mulholland Drive" directed by David Lynch. Particular focus is given to the films' portrayal of love. Details on the relationship between love and fantasy are presented. Other topics include subjectivity, betrayal, and the self.
