- Abstract
In the book "Being without Ground. Post-theistic Religiosity in the Late Work of Martin Heidegger," Rico Gutschmidt examines the post-theistic religiosity in the late work of Martin Heidegger. The author emphasizes the groundlessness of being and the impossibility of reducing it to a final concept. Gutschmidt places Heidegger's critical statements about Christianity in the tradition of constructive religious criticism and attempts to develop a new way of speaking about God that relates to the groundlessness of being. The study deals with Heidegger's cryptic discourse on the "gods" and the "ultimate God." The author interprets these expressions as an expression of a post-theistic religiosity that is only accessible through a phenomenological hermeneutics of negativity.
