- Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to determine the effects of theoretical fatigue life depending on surface roughness and surface roughness of cutting parameters in milling P20S plastic mold steel with different cutting parameters. For the statistical analysis of the data, the experimental design was determined as 18 experiments with the Central Composite Experiment design. As a result of the experiments, output parameters such as Ra, Rz, Sm and hardness were measured to evaluate the surface roughness and theoretical fatigue life. Fatigue life was calculated by using Rz, Sm and hardness values in the varea model and changes in theoretical fatigue life depending on cutting parameters were evaluated. As a result, highest theoretical fatigue life with lowest surface roughness has been detected as 0.188 µm and 507.796 Mpa at 220 m/min cutting speed, 0.05 mm/tooth feed and 0.5 mm cutting depth, respectively. It has been observed that increasing cutting speed and Depth of cut decreases with feed rate have a positive effect on surface roughness and theoretical fatigue life. According to the results of analysis of variance, the most effective cutting parameter for surface roughness and theoretical fatigue life was feed rate with 68.6% and 59.34%, respectively.
