- Title
Immune evasion: Bordetella escapes by inducing IL-10.
- Authors
David, Rachel
- Abstract
The article discusses the study which shows that Bordetella bronchiseptica manipulates the host immune response through type III secretion effector Bordetella pertussis (BopN) for survival. It explains that Bordetella bronchiseptica enhance the production of the anti-inflammatory cytokine Interlinking-10 (IL-10) for its own survival. Meanwhile, the researchers found that B. bronshiseptica increases the IL-10 production to decrease pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion.
