- Title
T cell memory: Keeping energy levels up.
- Authors

- Abstract
The article highlights a study which indicates that the generation of CD8+ T cell population is dependent on a switch in energy metabolism from glucose to fatty acid metabolism. The authors of the study examine the mechanisms that regulates memory T cell development in mice with a T cell-specific deletion of tumor necrosis factor receptor (TNFR)-associated factor 6 (TRAF6). They found that TRAF6-deficient T cells had a defect in the expression of genes involved in metabolic pathways.
