- Abstract
The article explores the views on the master-slave dialectics by Martinican author Édouard Glissant. The differences between Glissant and German philosopher Georg Hegel on their views on the master-slave dialectics and the concept of jouissance are tackled. The relationship between the Martinican sexual jouissance and the consumption of goods from Glissant's point of view is discussed. Also discussed is the tendency for Glissant to deviate from Romanticism.
