- Authors
Wille, Joshua
- Abstract
The article explores the fan editing subculture in the film adaptation of the superhero comic book "Watchmen." Creator Alan Moore explains the difficulty in translating the book to film. It mentions the ability of fan editors to test the limits of a narrative, its genre, its author, and its mode of consumption. The effect of the trend of adding alternate endings and director's cuts on digital video disc (DVD) versions of films on the idea of a film as a single, finished product is explained.
