Nutritional Prevention of Cancer: New Directions for an Increasingly Complex Challenge.
- Authors
Kristal, Alan R.; Lippman, Scott M.
- Abstract
The article discusses the implications of micronutrient supplementation in preventing cancer. Accordingly, a study revealed that micronutrient supplementation could increase the risk of cancer recurrence wherein folate has 163% chances of increasing prostate cancer risks. In addition, the article notes that research on the use of nutrition in cancer prevention is complicated which necessitates clinical trials to focus on the effects of dietary pattern and incidence endpoint.
