- Title
SOME ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF NATIONALIZATION.
- Authors
DE NEUMAN, ANDREW M.
- Abstract
The article discusses the economic aspects of nationalization in Great Britain. Since 1945, nationalization has covered several sectors of the British economy. The economic functions of public corporations are determined by the authorization given by the statutes which have created them. As mentioned, the acts in Britain related to the economic functions of the nationalized companies do not give a full picture of either the primary functions of the public corporations or the ways in which they should be carried out. As stated, these acts offer no interpretation of making supplies available, avoiding undue or unreasonable preference, and public interest. As mentioned, the most carefully defined provisions in these acts are those relating to the British Treasury.
