- Title
SHOULD WORKERS BE COMPELLED TO CONTRIBUTE?
- Authors
TRAPTON, GEORGE H.
- Abstract
The article presents information on whether employees should be required to contribute to the unemployment benefits' reserve funds, in the U.S. Five states, namely Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Alabama, California, and Washington, have implemented systems which require the workers to contribute for the same. The Act or the principle adopted by Wisconsin in 1932, states that the unemployment compensation costs should be made as an expense of business, with employers contributing alone. It is stated that may employers have insisted compulsory worker contributions, because they think such schemes will reduce employers' costs.
