- Abstract
The article discusses several issues related to political aspects of housing problems in the U.S. It reports on economic development project New Deal and The National Industrial Recovery Act which was approved by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. It is stated that the federal government is mainly interested in low-cost housing and slum clearance. It is reported that under the Emergency Relief and Construction Act of 1932 the Reconstruction Finance Corporation was formed which had the authority to make loans to corporations formed wholly for the purpose of housing for families of low income or for reconstruction of slum areas.
