- Abstract
The article "25, 50 and 75 years ago" provides a brief overview of various surgical topics from different time periods. It discusses the use of clinical indicators in orthopaedic surgery, specifically focusing on dislocation of a hip arthroplasty, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), and development of heel pressure areas as useful indicators. Another topic covered is the outcome of surgical repair for recurrent anterior instability of the shoulder, which had a high redislocation rate and challenges in restoring a stable, functional shoulder. Additionally, the article mentions the history of sympathectomy and its Australian contributors. Lastly, it touches on atherosclerotic ulceration of the brachiocephalic artery and popliteal artery aneurysms.
