- Abstract
The article focuses on the two volume diary of Raymond-Raoul Lambert, a Jewish council member in Vichy, France. The first note of the diary was written on July 20, 1940 and ended on August 20, 1943. The diary depicted the intense need of Lambert for personal literary expression. His first diary ended on November 3, 1942 and second notebook began on November 29, 1942. The diary can be severed into two major sections. In the first section, Lambert has penned down his contemplations about France and the future of Jews in France. He was deeply effected by the first World War.
