- Abstract
This study aims to investigate the relationship between modern society and control and surveillance in the context of Deleuze's concept of assemblage and rhizome. Societies build a structure based on order when building social space. It provides a prescription for the new and unfamiliar individuals to life and supervises the individuals in order to comply with the norm and values by promoting the implementation of this prescription. These rules, which the individual compliances or opposes to the social scene, change over time depending on the social structure that is transformed. The modern society, based on an ethos that promotes productive participation in the industrial era, has restricted the inhabitants of the production to a limited area. In the present day when the exuberance of production has been approached, the attempt to discipline has become an army of control means defined by Deleuze in the context of assemblage and control, unlike the way in which individuals consume what and where they consume and how they consume and where the control mechanisms are closed.
