- Abstract
Recently, along with the development and globalization of the society in all fields, we also have a large development and increase of crime phenomena on local and interstate level. Such crimes present potential danger for citizens, their property, state, region and the international community. As most exposed countries from criminal activities are the new countries that are in transition and developing countries, not leaving aside also the developed countries. Specially, these countries are vulnerable to organized crimes and its forms, which has a direct impact on the functioning of their security system. The causes of organized crime are numerous and appear in various forms. In this analyse we will focus on some of the forms of this phenomenon that face the countries in transition and Kosovo, like: corruption, money laundry, narcotics smuggling and human trafficking. In the introductory section we have analyzed the concept and characteristics of organized crime, then we continued with special coverage for each of its forms, and starting from the phenomenon itself, reasons and causes of the appearance and the driving factors up to the damages and consequences that cause these criminal phenomenes for the security system. In this analyse is also evaluated the level of involvement of the countries in general by the phenomenon of organized crime and its forms, as well as the measures related to prevention and fighting this phenomenon and consequences that bring to our society. In this analyse special attention is given to the impact that has the rapid technical and technological development, which is in disproportion with the development of society as a whole, especially the transition from a totalitarian to a democratic system and what needs to be harmonized and kept in balance, alongside other components, also fighting the most dangerous forms of criminality.
