- Abstract
The author discusses the relevance of dental health disparities to social work practice since dental disparities affect underserved populations and social work attention must be paid and that social workers are uniquely poised to recognize dental health inequality as social injustice. He points out that the profession of social work is especially useful to the amelioration of dental health disparities since social workers are able to skillfully advocate for social justice.
