- Abstract
Objectives: In this paper we examine the association of body mass index (BMI) with sexual behavior and sexual health in Chinese adults. Methods: Data were extracted from the Chinese Health and Family Life Survey (CHFLS), which included a nationally representative sample of 3807 adults. The information for sexual satisfaction and sexual behaviors was obtained from a computer-administered survey. Results: Compared with those with normal weight, overweight men were more likely to report painful urination; obese men were more likely to feel physical satisfaction and emotional satisfaction in sexual activity; obese women were more likely to report pleasure during sex, and less likely to report painful intercourse. Conclusions: BMI is associated with sexual satisfaction, sexual behavior, and sexual health in Chinese adults.
