- Abstract
The article discusses a study about the association between water intake and weight loss among overweight dieting women regardless of diet and activity. The study involved 311 premenopausal and overweight women, 188 of which drink over 1 liter (l) of water per day at baseline. It notes that results of the study imply that women who are observing weight loss diets can lose weight through water intake. It adds that in a span of 12 months, drinking a liter of water per day will lead to an increase in annual energy expenditure of 2 kilograms (kg) of fat.
