- Abstract
This article discusses a case report of a kidney transplant recipient who developed a resistant and refractory cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection. Despite the use of multiple single antiviral agents, the patient's viral load continued to increase. However, when combination therapy with novel antiviral agents was initiated, the viral load was successfully suppressed. The article highlights the challenges of treating resistant CMV infections and suggests that combination therapy with different mechanisms of action may be a potential therapeutic strategy. Further research is needed to fully understand the efficacy of combination therapies using these novel antiviral agents.
