- Abstract
In the technology era, firms should effectively use social media while integrating corporate social responsibility activities into their relationships with customers, society, employees and other interest groups and their commercial activities.In this context, the study aims to investigate the role of social media in the corporate social responsibility activities. Within this aim, corporate social responsibility studies of the three largest GSM firms in Turkey are examined. Analyses are made on 377 university students who are social media users. The results show that GSM firms that use social media effectively are more aware of their corporate social responsibility activities than others. Also, The results show that social media has raised awareness of corporate social responsibility activities and is an effective way to support these activities. It has been found that social media awareness of corporate social responsibility activities makes a meaningful difference in terms of ethical and voluntary corporate social responsibility perception.
