- Title
Assessing the Role of Public Relations in Internationalisation of TVET: A Case of the Sub-Saharan Africa.

- Abstract
Although Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is being recognized as instrumental for socioeconomic development in most countries, studies indicate that TVET is failing to match with the skills, attitudes and knowledge demands from the market, partly due to rapid technological developments, globalisation as well as rapid transformation of occupations (Jimat, 2009). As such, the public including the media still harbour negative attitudes on TVET in the wake of its failure to provide a panacea for unemployment. The paper argues that a vibrant PR is instrumental towards internationalisation in TVET and making it attractive through strategies such as harnessing the potential of PR and creation of an international platform where professionals involved in PR practices within TVET could share innovative ideas and best practices.
