- Abstract
The synthesis of N-substituted 4-sulfo-1,8-naphthalimide derivatives was performed in microwave reactor. The reaction was conducted in binary solvent mixture (EtOH:H2O 1:1 v:v) with 4-sulfo-1,8-naphtalic anhydride, the respective primary amine, and Zn(OAc)2 as a catalyst. High yields in a short reaction time were achieved (> 80 % in 5 min). The Lewis acid catalyst and the binary mixture have an important role on the reactivity and time reaction.
