- Abstract
Interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) are chronic conditions that significantly impact patients' quality of life, exercise capacity, and lifespan. Managing ILDs poses challenges across low-income, middle-income, and high-income countries due to various factors such as weather, air pollution, cultural beliefs, and income levels. High-income countries are perceived to have better resources for ILD care, but they still face challenges such as delays in access to healthcare and a lack of trained personnel. Middle-income and low-income countries struggle with limited healthcare infrastructure, high costs of diagnostic tests, delays in diagnosis, and inadequate rehabilitation and palliative care facilities. Disparities in health insurance coverage and access to medications also exist. Collaborative efforts, education, and research are needed to address these challenges and improve ILD management globally.
