- Abstract
The article focuses on the role of microRNAs in the development of diabetic cardiomyopathy. Topics discussed include the important features of diabetic cardiomyopathy, namely cardiomyocyte hypertrophy, myocardial fibrosis, and cardiomyocyte apoptosis. Also mentioned are studies which show that circulating miRNAs can be used as sensitive biomarkers for certain diseases such as cardiovascular diseases and cancers.
