- Abstract
The article discusses financial statements and the information sought by users of private companies' financial data. Several types of users are noted; they include investors, banks, insurance companies and many smaller groups. Most commonly, those viewing financial statements are interested in the cash flows, risk ratings, company's value, and profitability. H. Richard Howie of Pinoak Resources LLC is quoted and notes each group is searching for different information. Insurers often are interested in the company's financial strength, investors and management are looking at trends in earnings and production.
